Tuesday, 3 February 2015: The Pensions Authority has today obtained an Order of the High Court directing the removal of Source Pensions Administration and Trustee Company Limited as trustee of a number of occupational pension schemes. A new trustee, Trustee Principles Limited, has been appointed in its place by the same Order.
Thursday 29 January 2015: The Pensions Authority confirmed that its investigation into the activities of Source Pensions Administration and Trustee Company Limited in its capacity as a trustee of a number of occupational pension schemes is ongoing.
Wednesday 10 December 2014: From today the Pensions Authority will only accept AFCs and FSRCs submitted by scheme actuaries electronically through ISIS.
5 December 2014: In Waterford Circuit Court on Tuesday 18 November 2014, Mr. Thomas Walsh, company director of Spectron M & E Engineering Ltd (in liquidation) with an address of 16 The Pines, Ballinakill Downs, Waterford, pleaded guilty to offences contrary to section 58A(1) of the Pensions Act, 1990, as amended, for failing to remit employee pension contributions to the trustee of the Construction Workers Pension Scheme (CWPS) within the statutory time limit.
Thursday 27 November 2014: Pension scheme governance presentation by Brendan Kennedy, Pensions Regulator, The Pensions Authority to the Irish Association of Pensions Funds at their Governance Conference that was held in the Print Works, Dublin Castle.
The Pensions Authority is holding a Public Consultation Forum on Financial Management Guidelines for defined benefit schemes. The forum will be relevant to trustees, scheme members, providers, managers, advisers and other interested stakeholders.
Friday, 1 August 2014: In Wicklow Circuit Court, sitting in Bray, on Thursday 31 July 2014, Judge Michael O’Shea convicted and imposed a two year prison sentence on the directors of S.M. Morris Limited with a registered address at Bromley, Kilpedder, Co. Wicklow for failing to remit employee pension contributions to the trustee of the Construction Workers Pension Scheme (CWPS) within the statutory time limit. Stephen Morris and Thomas Morris pleaded guilty to a number of counts on the indictment. The Judge suspended the entire sentence for a period of two years upon each director entering into a Bond.
