Invitation to the Green Paper on Pensions Consultation Seminars
In October 2007, the Government published the Green Paper on pensions to promote debate on the challenges and options for the future of pensions in Ireland. In order to further this debate, the Department of Social and Family Affairs is holding a number of regional seminars to give people the opportunity to discuss the issues involved and to make their views on pensions known.
The regional seminars will be held as follows:
- Dublin: Thursday 28 February, Gresham Hotel
- Waterford: Monday 3 March, Days Hotel
- Cork: Tuesday 4 March, Imperial Hotel
- Tullamore: Wednesday 5 March, Tullamore Court Hotel
- Sligo: Thursday 6 March, The Glasshouse Hotel
Each seminar will run from 9.15 am to 1.00 pm and a light lunch will be served afterwards. There is no charge for attending the seminar but places are limited.
If you, or representatives from your organisation, would like to attend a seminar you can book a place through www.pensionsgreenpaper.ie, by emailing pensionsgreenpaper@welfare.ie, by writing to the Department at the address below, or by calling or (01) 704 3038 or (01) 704 3778.
It is proposed to hold a number of workshops on the day. When making a booking it would be appreciated if you would indicate your chosen seminar location (see above) and your particular area of interest from the following options:
– Social welfare pensions;
– private or occupational pensions; or
– longer working/raising effective retirement age.
If you or your organisation wishes to make a submission on the Green Paper, the Department would be grateful if you could submit this as soon as possible through www.pensionsgreenpaper.ie , by email pensionsgreenpaper@welfare.ie or by post to
